Yob pulls up hood then launches stone at taxi driver's windscreen

This is the moment a yob on a mountain bike threw a stone at a taxi as it sat at traffic lights on the edge of Liverpool city centre.

The private hire vehicle was on the corner of Parliament Street and Jamaica Street in the city's Baltic Quarter when a group of four boys cycled past.

In the footage the boys can be seen on their bikes cycling up to the car, which is parked at traffic lights.

One boy can then be seen to alter his hood and pull it up and tighten it, so that it covers his face.

He then, as he cycles past, launches an item, believed to be a stone which had been concealed in his hand, at the window of the car.

Laughter can then be heard as the group cycle away from the scene, leaving damage to the car's windscreen.

The incident happened at 3.18pm on Thursday and was captured on a dashcam, of the taxi driver, who asked not to be named.

He said: "I was just sat at the lights at the edge of the Baltic Quarter yesterday afternoon. I had a passenger with me at the time.

"I did not really take any notice of the boys, until one of them threw a stone.
