A family have been left "seething" after a yob targeted their home and covered it in used engine oil under the cover of darkness.
Detectives have launched a manhunt for the assailant, who is believed to have been driving a silver car.
The vile act has left such a stench the homeowners say they feel sick from the smell.
Police said the incident happened in Baggeridge Close, Gospel End, West Midlands at at about 4.30am on Friday, November 12.
A picture showed the front of the house covered in a black mess, ruining the windows, front door and garage, Birmingham Live reports.
The daughter of the homeowner wrote on Facebook: "No, l'm not angry I'm positively seething.
"Woken up at 4am by someone throwing what we suspect is used engine oil at the front of my father's house now smelling through the whole property making us all feel very very sick.
"l only woke up by chance after hearing something being thrown at the downstairs window.
"If you know who this was please do the right thing and call it in."
It was believed the offender emerged from a silver car and filled the buckets from the rear of their car, Staffordshire Police said.
The offender was described as a man in their 20s, around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall and wearing dark clothing including a dark hoodie.
