The White Sox said Thursday that third baseman Yoan Moncada and right-hander Jose Ruiz have rejoined the ballclub.
Moncada is with the team in major league camp and Ruiz will join the taxi squad in Schaumburg,
The pair was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday for unspecified reasons.
Two White Sox had tested positive for the coronavirus before summer camp. Both players, assumed to be Moncada and Ruiz, were asymptomatic. Players who test positive need consecutive negative tests for clearance to return.
Manager Rick Renteria also returned to the team Thursday after being away for a week to attend a family funeral in California.
Moncada had a breakout season in 2019 and was statistically the Sox’ best overall player.
The season opens next Friday.
