Yewande Biala swerves reunion with rival Arabella Chi on Love Island: Aftersun

Former Love Island contestant Yewande Biala chose not to reunite with love rival Arabella Chi on spin-off show Aftersun.

The scientist was dumped from the villa last week after Danny Williams chose to couple up with model Arabella instead of remaining in a pair with Yewande - despite previously claiming that his “head couldn’t be turned” by another girl.

Arabella was then voted out of the ITV2 competition alongside Tom Walker just a few days later after a public poll placed her and Danny among the show’s three least popular couples.

As host Caroline Flack asked her if she had spoken to Arabella since leaving the show, Yewande replied with a negative, before the presenter pressed her as to whether she “wants” to speak to her.

The audience gasped as Yewande took a moment to think before formulating her answer, describing her fellow islander as “a lovely girl” but eventually opting out of a televised reunion.

“I mean, she’s a lovely girl and I didn’t really get to know her in the villa because it’s quite awkward getting to know someone who’s trying to steal your man,” she told Flack.

“You don’t really get to know them on a personal level so I obviously didn’t get to know her in the villa and now that we’re out we don’t really have that established friendship.”

Going home: Danny Williams had to choose between Yewande Biala and Arabella Chi (ITV)

She went on to suggest that the pair were unlikely to forge a “genuine” bond after their differences on the show and said that a friendship between them would feel “really forced.”

Danny's recoupling speech from Love Island

During her exit interview, the 23-year-old also revealed that she “knew” that Danny would pick Arabella when he “went straight to [her]” after the group received a text “about someone getting dumped.”

“That’s when we started being shaky,” she explained.

Appearing on Flack’s sofa later in the show, Arabella addressed the divide, maintaining that she holds “no hard feelings” towards Yewande.

“I think it’s so hard, in the real world, you would never be friends going for the same guy… but we’re obviously going to have to be civil,” she said. “I have no hard feelings towards [her].”

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2. Aftersun airs Sundays at 10pm on ITV2.
