Just when you thought we'd be stuck in a holding pattern on an IEEPA tariffs decision from the US Court of International Trade for some yet-to-be-determined amount of time, there's news to report! But before you get too excited, I'll tell you right now that there's still no decision yet at the time of writing on January 27, 2026.
To catch you up if you haven't been following every twist and turn of what's been going on, you can read our previous coverage here. For a brief recap, Kawasaki, Costco, and a whole bunch of other major companies with names you know and whose products you probably have in your home right now have all sued the US Customs and Border Patrol in the US Court of International Trade, substantially arguing that the president's previous declaration of IEEPA tariffs aren't legal.
Just before the New Year, the Court of International Trade panel of three judges who will decide on these cases issued a stay on these cases "following a final, unappealable decision in V.O.S. Selections, Inc. v. United States, which is the case that was argued before the Supreme Court in November 2025, and upon which a decision is expected to be issued sometime before the Court's current session ends in June 2026.
Just prior to issuing this stay, a fourth motion to consolidate additional substantially similar cases of businesses filing suit over these tariffs was granted. And during the month of December 2025, some additional powersports and outdoor-related companies whose names you're absolutely familiar with filed suits of their own.
What kind of names are we talking? The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, for one; as you may or may not be aware, Goodyear also currently owns other tire brands you may use, including Dunlop, Mickey Thompson, Avon, and Cooper. Their suit was filed on December 10, 2025.
The very same day, International EZ-UP, Inc also filed a similar suit. If you've ever made use of an EZ-UP canopy at a track day, that's exactly the company we're talking about, and that line of products is their specialty. Action camera maker GoPro, Inc. filed a similar suit of its own on December 30, 2025, just before the New Year. And on January 8, 2026, YETI Coolers, LLC decided to join in the tariff lawsuit action with its own similar suit in the US CIT.
Additional companies outside the outdoors and powersports spheres continue to come forward to file their own similar suits. Now, unlike the ones we've previously reported on here, these more recent filings have yet to be consolidated into the AGS Solutions suit that Kawasaki, Costco, and previous companies mentioned in this action on RideApart are currently part of.
However, if the previous four motions to consolidate all these similar cases into one big, major case are any indication, it's only a matter of time before there is a fifth motion to consolidate the most recent group of companies that have come forward with their own suits, so that all may be heard and decided upon by the US CIT's panel of three judges currently assigned to the AGS Solutions case.
As always, we'll be sure to report any additional developments as and when they occur. Watch this space.
