'Yet another clean sheet' - Bristol City loans report as mixed success for Robins elsewhere

Bristol City have some 14 players out on loan in the league (including the SPFL) and another six outside the league.

Maybe not quite the Chelsea of the South West but the cider loan army marches on another weekend. And as most weeks there was plenty of successes to report from man of the match displays to injuries and non

In particular several Robins are impressing at their temporary clubs.

And arguably none more so than Max O'Leary who picked up a man of the match award as Shrewsbury Town drew 0-0 at Rotherham United.

The on-loan goalkeeper who was called up to a Republic of Ireland squad at the end of last season was in fine fettle for Sam Rickett's team in League One, with the Shrews positioned 11th in the table currently.

It was O'Leary's fourth clean sheet of the season.

However, Joe Morrell played the full 90 for Lincoln City - the first game with Michael Appleton watching on - but the Imps went down 0-6 to Oxford United, with Matty Taylor on the scoresheet for the first time for Karl Robinson's side.

Meanwhile, there was no further goals this weekend for Mo Eisa who has hit six in nine starts at Peterborough United as the former Robin was part of a side beaten 2-0 by Doncaster Rovers, while Coventry City and Liam Walsh had a week off as they were due to play Bury.

Championship: Jamie Paterson got half an hour from the bench for Derby County in their 1-1 draw at Leeds United.

In League Two James Morton didn't play in Forest Green Rovers' 0-0 draw with Stevenage, with Jojo Wollacott an unused substitute. And likewise George Nurse was an unused substitute in Newport County's 1-1 draw with top-of-the-table Exeter City, as Cam Pring played no part in Walsall's fine 1-0 win over Scunthorpe United, a game that did however feature Rory Holden - who played the full game and picked up a booking.

Freddie Hinds did not feature at Colchester United in their 2-1 win over Leyton Orient. But Jonny Smith netted his first goal for Oldham Athletic as they beat Morecambe 3-1 to move up the English fourth tier.

And in the National League, Torquay United drew 0-0 with Dagenham and Redbridge as Robbie Cundy played the whole game, but Opi Edwards and Connor Lemonheigh-Evans missed out with injury. Former Robin Jake Andrews came on as a substitute.

And still non-league: Owura Edwards assisted for Bath in a 0-4 win over Swindon Supermarine in the FA Qualifying rounds, Vince Harper and Tom Harrison played 90 minutes against Kidlington in a 5-0 win, and Zak Smith and Bradd Webb tasted defeat in a 2-1 loss for Taunton Town.

Finally, north of the border: Bristol City defender Zak Vyner got 75 minutes and helped Aberdeen keep a clean sheet in a 0-2 win at Livingston in the Scottish Premiership.
