Yerry Mina still in pain and Everton uncertain if defender will play against Tottenham Hotspur

Yerry Mina is continuing to experience pain in his knee and Marco Silva is uncertain whether he will be fit to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Everton centre-back missed the trip to Brighton on Saturday due to a problem in his right knee, but returned to the starting XI against Watford midweek - only to be forced off in the 41st minute of the Carabao Cup tie.

The Colombian reported pain when being assessed after the 2-0 win against the Hornets and although the injury is not believed to be serious manager Silva said Mina is still in "small pain" and his availability for the weekend will be assessed in the next few days.

Head-to-head: Everton v Spurs

"Let’s see," the Portuguese boss said when asked about Mina's fitness.

"Like I said after the match [against Watford], it’s nothing special there.

"We have made an exam again and there is nothing really serious there.

"He has a small pain so let’s see in the next few hours, the next few days if he will be able to play [at the weekend]."
