Yerry Mina will have longer to rest and prepare for Everton's trip to Fulham after being sent off for Colombia last night.
But any hopes Carlo Ancelotti may have had that James Rodriguez's workload would be managed were dashed with the forward playing the full match against Uruguay last night.
Ancelotti did not believe Rodriguez was 100% fit for the game with Manchester United before the international break and the 29-year-old was replaced with just over 10 minutes left after telling the bench he felt tired.
But last night, in Barranquilla, he played until the end as Colombia lost 3-0 in the World Cup qualifier with Mina being shown a second yellow card in the final minute of a chastening night for his country.
They will look to make amends on Tuesday when they face Ecuador (9pm UK time) before returning back to England, via Madrid.
Ancelotti's build-up to the game received a boost earlier on Friday when it was announced the trip to Fulham had been pushed back from Saturday, November 21 at 3pm to Sunday, November 22 at 12, giving him and his players longer to prepare for the game.
In another lift for Ancelotti, Richarlison played his first competitive minutes since the Merseyside derby, almost a month ago, when he started Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Venezuela.
The 23-year-old was replaced after 76 minutes of the 1-0 win. Allan, meanwhile, played the full 90 minutes in Sao Paolo.
