Yerry Mina returns to Everton training session watched by Premier League official

Yerry Mina returned to training with Everton on Friday as Carlo Ancelotti's session was watched by a Premier League observer.

The Blues boss gave his players Thursday off following their win at Norwich City, which came four days after the Merseyside derby stalemate.

Everton are back in action on July 1 when they entertain Leicester City at Goodison and Ancelotti will be hopeful of including Mina in the squad.

As reported by the ECHO after his thigh injury, the Colombian defender was optimistic of a return to training before the end of June and is now targeting a place in the squad for Wednesday night's game with the Foxes.

Everton have released a short video of Thursday's recovery session at Finch Farm.

Mina was involved but there was no sign of Fabian Delph or Djibril Sidibe, who have missed the first two games of the re-start due to to injury.

Moise Kean was also absent from the video but it is unclear at this stage why he missed the session.

Under-23s striker Ellis Simms took part in the session but Oumar Niasse and Cuco Martina, after it was confirmed they will be released at the end of their contracts on Tuesday, were not involved.

The sessions was also overseen by a Premier League observer who was there to ensure all relevant health and safety guidelines were being followed by the Blues.
