Yerry Mina returns as Dominic Calvert-Lewin absent from Everton squad for Leicester game

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is not in the squad for Everton’s crucial match with Leicester City.

The striker, who has missed much of the season through injury, is absent again from Frank Lampard’s teamsheet. The other big story from the starting line-up is the inclusion of Yerry Mina.

The centre back comes straight back in after recovering from an injury suffered in Lampard’s first game back at Newcastle United in February.

No details surrounding Calvert-Lewin’s omission have been released by Everton, but rumours had swirled during the day that the 25-year-old may have been injured in training.

In his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Lampard did, however, highlight he had several attacking “options” in what may have been a hint the striker was not in line to start had he been available.

Mina replaces Michael Keane, meaning he partners with Ben Godfrey - who was so impressive in the win over Manchester United.

Seamus Coleman captains the side with Vitaliy Mykolenko again earning Lampard’s backing. Allan and Fabian Delph will sit in front of the back four with Alex Iwobi, Richarlison, Anthony Gordon and Demarai Gray providing the attacking options:

Everton starting XI: Pickford; Coleman; Godfrey; Mina; Mykolenko; Allan; Delph; Iwobi; Gray; Gordon; Richarlison.

Subs: Begovic; Kenny; Keane; Holgate; Doucoure; Gomes; van de Beek; Rondon; Alli.

Leicester: Schmeichel, Pereira, Fofana, Evans, Castagne, Mendy, Barnes, Tielemans, Dewsbury-Hall, Maddison, Iheanacho.
