Yerry Mina injury latest after Everton defender misses training

Yerry Mina remains hopeful of being passed fit to face Brighton this weekend.

The defender missed this morning's training session at Finch Farm as he continues to nurse a knee injury.

Mina sustained the problem in the closing stages of last weekend's win over West Ham and had to be replaced in time added on by Mason Holgate.

The 24-year-old underwent tests at the club's Halewood training complex on earlier this week after a scheduled day off following the victory at Goodison.

And the ECHO has learnt that although Mina was not involved in this morning's session with Marco Silva, there remains hope he could yet be passed fit for the trip to the Amex Stadium.

Mina has started every Premier League game so far and been one of the most consistent performers this season.

Morgan Schneiderlin and Fabian Delph, meanwhile, are hoping to shake off hamstring issues to also be available for Silva to select after they missed the West Ham win.

The Everton boss will provide an update on the fitness of Cenk Tosun tomorrow after a groin problem ruled him out of the game.
