Yeovil Town sign released Notts County defender Jordan Barnett

Jordan Barnett has signed for Yeovil Town after being released by Notts County at the end of last season.

The former Barnsley defender, who plays left-back, was deemed surplus to requirements by the Magpies after they missed out on promotion.

Barnett scored a stunning goal for County in a 2-0 win over the Glovers last season, which was his first for the club after joining from Oldham Athletic.

But his appearances for Notts became limited towards the back end of last season as Calvin Miller, who has joined Chesterfield, established himself as first-choice left wingback.

Speaking about his move, Barnett said; “I’m delighted to get the deal over the line. I’ve been talking with the club for about a week now, so I’m just delighted to get down here and see the facilities, which are really nice.

“As soon as Darren (Sarll) saw I was available, he rang my agent. The goal I scored against Yeovil last season has helped me a lot, and he really likes me as a player.

“I’m more of an attacking left-back than a defensive left-back, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to get my foot in as well, I love a tackle!”
