Yeon hints at major roster reshuffle casting doubts on Team Liquid’s future

A lackluster LTA North Split 3 and early exit from Worlds 2025 contention have left Team Liquid at a crossroads, where roster shake-ups may be inevitable.

“I mean, to be honest, no one knows what’s going to happen. No one knows if it’s going to be like a new team rebuild. Or like if we’re going to go the same way. Or if we’re changing some players. So it’s hard to say what’s going to happen. Especially just because we have to start thinking now,” Yeon said in an interview with Hotspawn. “And I have nothing but like an apologetic, just apologies for the fans, mostly.”

Yeon admitted that Team Liquid’s performance was “lackluster,” calling their elimination in the LTA North before Worlds 2025 “a very big disappointment,” especially given how the team had been playing over the past two years.

Looking back at the brighter moments, Yeon pointed to MSI 2024 in Chengdu as his favorite memory with the team. He recalled the fun they had during that run, even when things were difficult, and how the players supported one another. He admitted that much of that camaraderie has since faded, wishing the current roster could recapture the spirit they had at MSI.

Team Liquid’s domestic performance was positive in 2024 after winning the LCS 2024 Spring Split and becoming runner-ups in the Summer Split. But the story has changed this year after a strong start. They managed to win the LTA 2025 Split 1 to qualify for FST 2025, but they’ve fallen off in their form ever since.

Team Liquid were eliminated from the LTA North 2025 after losing to 100 Thieves in the lower brackets. The management will now have a tough job preparing the squad for next year.
