Yemeni Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed directed leaders at the ministries of finance and civil services to work to provide new job opportunities, which would restore hope to young people who have been waiting employment for years.

Saeed reaffirmed that the government, under the directives of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, is keen on moving forward with the improvement of its administrative and financial systems.

The prime minister also stressed the importance of working in an innovative way to develop and reform the civil service sector without inflating costs and adding new burdens on the state budget in what he labeled is a “difficult stage.”

Saeed blamed the country’s strained situation on the war sparked by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

The meeting, which joined Saeed with both Finance Minister Salem bin Brik and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service Adnan Abdul-Jabbar, discussed efforts for preparing the state's general budget for 2020.

This included recently open vacancies in the health and education sectors.

The meeting touched on the level of implementation of the policies approved in the 2019 budget and what the 2020 budget is supposed to include with a focus on improving the daily lives of citizens.

The meeting also examined ways to improve the operating expenses of local authority units in governorates nationwide.
