The Yemeni government has expressed its rejection of any military or security institution outside the state control.
It affirmed its intention to implement the law and extend the state's control to protect the security of all citizens, without any discrimination.
There is a real chance to reform and build the military and security institutions in accordance with a modern vision and sound security plans, Yemeni Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik noted.
He pointed out that this would contribute to defeating the Houthi coup, which represents the main rival to the national project and the Yemeni identity.
The rebellion in Aden and the so-called Transitional Council’s recent attacks on Abyan and Shabwa governorates, Abdulmalik said, reveal the seriousness of these uncontrolled institutions and their disastrous repercussions on the state and its functions, giving way to terrorist groups to expand and exploit this duality.
During his chairmanship of the security and military committee in Marib, in the presence of a number of state leaders, the Premier pointed to the government’s awareness of the challenges and complexities facing the security and military in Marib and in various governorates, especially with regard to financial benefits and logistical and financial support.
“We will work through the relevant institutions and bodies in the ministries of defense and interior to find sustainable solutions to these challenges,” he stressed.
Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Abdullah al-Nakhai, for his part, said that the Iranian-backed militias target destabilizing security and stability to spread chaos and attain its goals.
He stressed on the necessity to intensify efforts to counter what is being schemed against Marib and liberated provinces in general.
Meanwhile, the interior ministry called on all members, officers, and employees in the security services to carry out their duties in maintaining the citizens’ security and safety and securing all public and private properties in Abyan, Lahj, and Aden provinces.
It urged them to be fully vigilant and keen to maintain security and public tranquility, following the victories achieved by the National Army in the three governorates.
According to Saba, the ministry also called on citizens in these three governorates to abide by law and order, maintain public order, report any threats or security violations, and work together with the army and security bodies to normalize the situation and maintain public safety.
