Yemen's Human Rights Minister Mohamed Askar signed Tuesday in Aden with UN's regional monitoring group, represented in UNICEF, a road-map for the implementation of the action plan to end the use and recruitment of children.

Following signing the agreement, Askar said that this agreement was signed in Sanaa in 2014 but was obstructed by the brute war raged by the insurgent Houthi militia that turned against the legitimacy.

He added that following the recent incidents in Yemen, a joint committee was formed to follow-up the implementation of the agreement and submit it to the cabinet. During the past week, it has been adopted by the cabinet, he continued.

UNICEF resident representative in Yemen Meritxell Relano said that the agreement protects children because they are the most influenced in conflicts and wars.

The signing was attended by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Ebtihaj Al-Kamal, Vice Chief of Military Staff General Saleh al-Zandani, Deputy Minister of Interior Maj Gen Ali Nasser Al Akhsha, Commander of the Fourth Military Region Major General Fadel Hassan, Aden's Security Chief Shalal Shayaa and a number of international and local organizations’ representatives.
