Prime Minister of the legitimate Yemeni government Maeen Abdulmalik accused the Iran-backed Houthi militias of lying about and concealing information over the novel coronavirus outbreak in areas under their control.

Such practices jeopardize the lives of the people, he warned, adding that the Houthis were not taking the necessary measures against the virus.

The Houthis are aiming through this deception to maintain their sources of recruitment and continue to force people to the frontlines, he remarked during a virtual meeting with United Nations envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, UN Resident Coordinator, Lise Grande, and the World Health Organization representative in Yemen.

Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani accused the Houthis of looting medical supplies sent by the WHO and that was on its way to areas held by the militias.

The aid has been looted by Houthi leaderships and members and sold on the market, he revealed.

He urged Griffiths and the WHO to condemn such violations and pressure the Houthis to release the supplies and deliver them to hospitals.
