Yemen: MASAM Removes 671 Houthi Mines in 1 Week

A Yemeni demining unit prepares to destroy unexploded bombs and mines collected from conflict areas near the southern port city of Aden. Reuters

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's project in Yemen for clearing mines "MASAM" demined 671 mines in the 4th week of April.

The detrimental items include 45 antipersonnel mines, 175 anti-tanks, 435 unexploded ordnance and 16 explosive devices.

Since the beginning of the project, 161,909 landmines have been dismantled after being planted by terrorist Houthi militia in Yemen, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The project is a continuation of efforts being exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, to clear Yemeni lands of landmines and to train Yemeni national teams over this operation.

The Houthi mines have claimed lives, caused serious injuries or amputation of children, women and elderly.
