The Yemeni legitimate government announced on Saturday its rejection of a Dutch decision to extend the mandate of the Group of Experts to Investigate Human Rights Violations, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
In a statement, the government said it will not cooperate with the Group of Experts on the basis of its right as a member state of the United Nations and rejection of meddling in its internal affairs.
The working mechanisms of the Human Rights Council are based on respect for the decisions of the member states.
Furthermore, the government accused Amsterdam of trying to politicize the work of the Human Rights Council.
The extension of the mandate of the Group of Experts would adversely affect the national mechanisms of accountability and justice, it charged.
It therefore called for supporting and empowering the National Commission as it investigates allegations of human rights violations.
