The Yemeni government’s recent efforts to save the economy from collapse and ease the humanitarian crisis “have improve significantly,” said government spokesman Rajih Badi according to the Yemen news agency on Saturday.
He added that the government exerted efforts to resolve the oil derivatives crisis and reduced prices by an average of 25 percent.
Moreover, it dispensed the salaries of 242,657 state civil sector employees out of a total of 472,353. It has also paid the wages of retirees across Yemen.
These government efforts have revived 60 percent of the monetary cycles and financial trading from the black market to the official and commercial banking sector, in accordance to international standards and requirements to combat terrorism and money laundering, Badi told the news agency.
The government believes that these results are evidence that it has taken the correct measures and procedures in the country, he continued.
Furthermore, he hailed the Saudi-led Arab coalition members and international efforts to help improve the economy and ease the suffering of the people at the hands of the Iran-backed Houthi militias.
