Official sources indicated that the government held a meeting on Monday to discuss security and military situations, measures associated with preparing the state public budget and economic revival, and raising the price of Yemeni Rial against foreign currencies.

Led by the newly-appointed Prime Minister, Maeen Abdul Malek, the Yemeni government seeks to confront all economic and administrative issues to stabilize the national currency and contribute to improving services in liberated areas.

The government stressed that cigarettes not carrying "Pandrol" stamp will not be allowed to enter the country, and that any cigarettes found within the Yemeni territory will be considered smuggled goods and will get confiscated.

The Yemeni cabinet also adopted decisions regarding the general budget and measures that support the recovery of the economy and improve the value of the local currency against foreign exchange, in the light of the report submitted by the Economic Committee on public finances at its previous meeting.

The council of minister stopped all job appointments out of the approved framework and out of the state budget. It authorized the ministry of foreign affairs to provide a prospect for returning to appointment measures in accordance with the diplomatic law.

The council discussed a report submitted by Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister Ahmad al-Maisary on the security situations of Aden and other liberated provinces, as well as efforts of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy for unifying security apparatus.

In addition, Vice Chief of Military Staff General Saleh al-Zandani presented a report on the military situations and victories of the national army on different fronts against the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
