Yellow weather warning issued for Nottinghamshire as temperatures fall

Another yellow weather warning has been issued for Nottinghamshire by the Met Office.

The warning for ice is in place from 4pm today until 11am tomorrow, Tuesday, January 5.

Experts say icy stretches are likely to cause difficult driving conditions.

The warning is in place across much of Northern England, and people are urged to expect icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Some injuries may also occur from slips and falls on icy surfaces, the Met Office warns.

In Nottingham, temperatures are expected to stay just above freezing overnight, reaching 3C at 12noon on Tuesday, January 5.

It comes after another warning for ice was issued by the Met Office from 6pm on Sunday, January 3 to 11am on Monday, January 4.

Parts of Nottinghamshire experienced snowfall on Saturday, January 2, although none is forecast over the next couple of days in the county.
