Yellow weather warning for ice issued by Met Office for Glasgow and Strathclyde

A yellow weather warning for ice has been issued by The Met Office for Glasgow and Strathclyde.

The warning was issued around 5am and runs until 9am this morning (December 10) and covers the city as well as Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire and North and South Lanarkshire.

The warning notes that icy patches may cause some travel disruption this morning.

People are warned about the possibility of some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces and some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

The Met Office further notes that icy patches are likely to develop following overnight rain and showers, especially where there are further showers early this morning.
