Glasgow weather: Met Office warning issued for today as heavy rain and 70mph wind to disrupt roads

Remember your brollies today - a yellow weather warning has been issued for heavy rain.

The Met Office has warned heavy rain will arrive in the early hours of today, leading to a very wet Wednesday morning over the Strathclyde region.

25-35mm will fall quite widely in around 6-9 hours, with 40-50mm in a few locations.

Despite the recent dry conditions, these totals will be enough to cause some surface water flooding, or flooding from smaller watercourses.

Road users are to expect some travel disruption, as buses and train services may be affected, as well as road spray making journey times longer.

The Met also warns the "flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible".
