Yellow weather warning as snow falls across Lanarkshire

We might be firmly into spring but it isn't time to put away those winter jackets just yet.

A yellow warning for snow has been put in place across North and South Lanarkshire.

The Met Office has warned that snow could cause disruption to travel this morning.

The warning is in place until 11am.

A colder than usual snap reached the Central Belt at dawn and is expected to turn showery by mid to late morning.

Snow accumulations of up to 3m on lower roads and 6cm over higher roads is possible, according to the Met Office.

Sunny intervals tomorrow morning will be short-lived with cloud settling in for the weekend around 1pm.

Saturday is set to be cloudy with some light rain - rain that sadly looks to be continuing through until Wednesday.
