The UK is waking up to yellow warnings for fog across the whole of England and Wales, with the potential for poor visibility and delayed journey times.
The fog is predicted to be slow to move, but the warnings are set to end at midday.
Alongside the fog are cold temperatures, with lows of -1 in Newcastle and Edinburgh, Cardiff, Hull, and Birmingham hitting the freezing temperature of 0C, and London slightly warmer, at 3C.
We’ll see a slow warming up throughout the day, however, with most parts of the country gaining 5C degrees warmth by 3pm.
A dry day with some patches of rain in Scotland and Northern Ireland will be followed by a foggy night once again, and rain creeping up northwards from the south coast.
The weekend will give those in the UK a slightly warmer picture, with the South East and Midlands seeing seeing double digits on Saturday, with a milder day for all on Sunday with highs of 10C.
The main feature of the weekend will be cloud and fog, with most places experiencing mostly dry weather with the exception of some patchy drizzle. A lucky few will see sunshine in north Scotland and South East England.
Two flood warnings remain in England, with those in the Keswick campsite area of the Lake District experiencing flooding, and therefore being told that the flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected. Wales sees six flood warnings with two active red alerts at Bangor on Dee and Lower Dee Valley.
