Yellow warning for rain as SEPA say there is a risk of flooding in area

A yellow weather warning for heavy rain is in place in North Ayrshire today until just before midnight.

The Met Office say the current heavy rain may lead to travel disruption, with bus and train services likely to take longer and spray and flooding on the roads making journey times longer.

Flooding of a few homes and businesses is also likely across the region.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency say there is a risk of flooding to low lying land and roads in Ayrshire and Arran from surface water and smaller rivers.

SEPA say to remain vigilant and to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.

Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.
