They are advising people making essential journeys or exercising this evening and into tomorrow morning to be aware, and take care.

Temperatures peaked at around four degrees Celsius today but are expected to drop to zero in many areas into the early hours of Wednesday.

It will be a cloudy start to the day however there could be some sunny intervals later in the morning.

Temperatures are forecast to slowly rise again once the yellow warning expires around 11am tomorrow morning, with the mercury expected to again peak around 4C.
