TSU -- A yellow heart created using nanohana blossoms appeared ahead of Valentine's Day near the left bank of the Kumozu River in Kotsukuricho, Tsu, Mie Prefecture.
A man living nearby created the rice field art using his fallow rice field as a canvas, sowing the seeds of early-blooming nanohana blossoms into the shape of a heart last October. It is 20 meters in length and width, with drivers passing by the embankment road stopping their cars to take pictures of it.
"I hope everyone is happy with the art at this time of year when flowers are scarce," he said.
The man changes the theme of the rice paddy art every year.
The heart can be viewed until around the end of February.
