The month it all changed.
The realisation that this thing called 'COVID-19' was, perhaps, not going away anytime soon was about to dawn on us.
Stores and services closed and the lockdown forced us to reassess what was 'essential' towards the end of the month. Our scientists worked harder to give Australians hope of a vaccine.
We learnt all about 'isolation'. We welcomed new bundles of joy into an increasingly strange world. We took classes and hobbies online. We called 'last beers'. We rejoiced when our favourite restaurants started dishing up takeaway options. We realised again how much we have to thank our frontline health workers for.
We wanted good news - births and big achievements.
And we braced ourselves for what April would bring.
