YCHO Concerned with UNICEF's Decision to Suspend Aid in Yemen

Yemen Comprehensive Humanitarian Operations Support Center (YCHO) said is deeply concerned with UNICEF's decision to end its aid operations in Yemen.

"We are aware that the decision was taken after information confirming that the Houthi militia is preventing the UNICEF from establishing a Call Center in areas controlled by Iranian-backed Houthi militia," the center stated in a press release which Asharq Al-Awsat received a copy of.

"We know that the action is taken to ensure transparency in the supervision of the distribution and monitoring of aid in order to prevent Houthis corruption. We also condemn any hindering of humanitarian operations by the militias" the statement added.

The Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, the Executive Director of Yemen Comprehensive Humanitarian Support Center, HE Mohammed Al Jabir, called for a meeting with UNICEF to discuss the establishment of a Call Center in areas controlled by Legitimate Government and discuss ways of cooperation to alleviate the suffering of brothers in Yemen especially, children.
