An exhibition featuring works by contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama is being held at Niigata City Art Museum in Chuo Ward, Niigata.

In the exhibition "The collection of Yayoi Kusama + Artists who went to America," 85 of Kusama's works from the museum are on display. They include a large 8.4-meter-wide piece titled "Shooting Stars" and an etching on corroded copperplate jointly made with Kihachi Kimura (1934-2014), a printmaker from Minami-Uonuma, Niigata Prefecture.

"The etching gives a vivid impression of Kusama's hand movements. We hope people enjoy the monotone works too," said museum curator Hitoko Kamiike.

The exhibition will be held through April 12 and is closed Mondays. Admission is 500 yen for adults, 400 yen for university and high school students, and free for junior high school students and younger.
