Yaya Toure reveals what sets Man City boss Pep Guardiola apart

Former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has given an insight on what it’s like to play under ‘relentless’ Pep Guardiola.

City booked their place in yet another cup final with victory over Brighton on Saturday and Toure was a guest during the BBC's coverage.

The Blues sealed their place in the FA Cup final with a 1-0 win over the Seagulls thanks to a first-half Gabriel Jesus goal.

That kept alive City’s hopes of completing a famous quadruple, with the Carabao Cup already in the bag. They will take on either Watford or Wolves, who face off tomorrow, in the other semi-final.

Toure was a pundit for BBC One’s coverage of the match alongside Gary Lineker and co, where he was quizzed on life at City under Guardiola.

Despite leaving the club on a free transfer last summer, and infrequently featuring in last year’s Premier League triumph, Toure was full of praise for Guardiola and his staff.

At half-time, he spoke about the meticulous work the City boss goes through ahead of every game.
“He is quite different. He is a guy who is very dedicated and loves his job. He is focused and everything he does always has an idea behind it,” Toure told BBC Sport.

"He always creates an atmosphere where the players believe in themselves. He shows great leadership.

“For me, he always trusts the players know how to do their job. He prepares them mentally to get ready for the job they have to do.”

Although Toure hasn’t officially retired from the game, it’s unlikely we’ll see any more of his trademark marauding runs in the Premier League again.
