Yate Town v Bristol Rovers: Reilly grabs rapid hat-trick as Gas reach double figures

There was no Jonson Clarke-Harris but that was no problem for Bristol Rovers as they fired their way to a 10-1 win over Yate Town in their first pre-season friendly of the season.

Clarke-Harris was seemingly rested ahead of the club’s trip to Dublin on Monday, but there was no shortage of goalscorers without him, with seven different players  on the scoresheet - including a Gavin Reilly hat-trick.

New signings Jordi van Stappershoef, Mark Little, Josh Hare and Tom Davies were all on show, with plenty of Rovers fans making the trip to South Gloucestershire this lunchtime (July 6).

Deon Moore, who is yet to agree a new deal with the club, opened the scoring early on, with Kyle Bennett and Tom Nichols both netting stunners either side of Yate’s only goal of the game.

Ollie Clarke celebrated his captaincy in style with a second-half brace, which was overshadowed by Reilly’s nine-minute treble. Alex Rodman and Bernard Mensah rounded off the win, which kicked Rovers’ pre-season off in style.
