LOS ANGELES _ Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig's Encino, Calif., home was broken into Thursday night about an hour after the Los Angeles Dodgers lost Game 7 of the World Series, according to published media reports and police.
Los Angeles Police officers responded to a burglar alarm at a home on Puig's block around 9:45 p.m. local time, said Officer Rosario Herrera, a department spokeswoman.
Police officials did not disclose the value of the stolen items, the address of the home or the home's owner. TMZ reported the home belonged to Puig.
Puig bought a remodeled Encino home on the block for $2.65 million earlier this year, public records show.
Burglars also hit Puig's Sherman Oaks home in March and made off with at least $170,000 worth of jewelry.
There has been a rash of burglaries at celebrity homes in the last year.
Singer Alanis Morissette's Brentwood mansion was broken into in February. Burglars made off with a safe containing $2 million in jewelry and other valuables.
Nearly $500,000 in valuables were stolen from the home of Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young in February.
