Everton ran out comfortable winners over Preston in their final pre-season fixture of the summer, but there was one moment that certainly caught the eye.
Goals from Jonjoe Kenny and Dominic Calvert-Lewin secured the victory for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, as the Blues gear up for their Premier League opener against Tottenham next week.
While a clean sheet and two goals certainly please the Everton faithful, one moment from Yannick Bolasie has been doing the rounds on social media.
In a well-worked move, the 31-year-old had what looked like a relatively simple chance from close range to get a third goal for the Blues, but instead missed his mark.
It was a moment that Bolasie saw the funny side of later, with the Blues winger later posting on social media his reaction to his own miss.
“No excuses....I have no idea,” wrote Bolasie on Twitter, followed by the hashtag ‘#LostMy Head’.
Bolasie later took to Twitter to praise the Everton youngsters for their performance in the win over Preston.
“(Back) home wearing that (Blue), no feeling like it. Good to get the W today, the Young G’s played well,” he wrote.
“Great for their confidence, Let’s keep working hard & pushing (on).
“Banters on me tonight though...my kids even getting onto me, nowhere to hide.”
