Yannick Bolasie makes transfer claim following Sporting Lisbon switch as Everton winger eyes permanent exit

Yannick Bolasie believes his performances on the pitch will determine whether he secures a permanent move to Sporting Lisbon.

The winger joined the Portuguese side on a season-long loan deal on the final day of the European transfer window, with the Primeira Liga side also having the option to purchase the winger next summer.

Despite joining the Blues in a deal worth to be around the £25million mark in the summer of 2016, Bolasie has found his first-team chances limited after returning from a knee injury, and spent last season on loan at Aston Villa and Anderlecht after being frozen out by Marco Silva.

Bolasie still has two years remaining on his current Goodison Park deal, but his hoping to impress on the pitch for his new side in order to earn a permanent switch to the Portuguese capital.

“First of all, it is an honour to have the opportunity to play for a club like Sporting," the DR Congo international told Portuguese publication Record.

"I have to look at things step by step, because we can never predict the future.

“As you all know, Sporting have the option to buy me at the end of the season, but it’s the performances that will speak for me on the pitch.

"That’s up to me: going on the pitch and doing my best to help the team achieve positive results.”
