Yannick Bolasie left 'disappointed' after transfer from Everton to Middlesbrough misses deadline

Yannick Bolasie has taken to social media to express his disappointment after his deadline day move to Middlesbrough failed to materialise.

Boro approached Everton about taking the winger on loan on Friday, but a deal could not be reached by the deadline forcing the Championship side to turn their attention elsewhere.

The 31-year-old joined the Blues in a £25m deal from Crystal Palace in August 2016 but has spent the last two seasons on loan at Aston Villa, Anderlecht and Sporting Lisbon.

Returning to Finch Farm this summer, the winger has been working hard in training and played a part in both of Everton's pre-season matches against Blackpool and Preston North End.

However, he has not been involved in the squad for any of Everton 's first six matches of the campaign in all competitions as rumours have circulated surrounding his future.

Carlo Ancelotti confirmed, before the international break, that Bolasie did not feature in his plans for the season and that he was free to find a new club.

The 31-year-old is into the final year of his contract and today was the final chance he had to secure a domestic move.

And the former Crystal Palace man has now taken to Twitter to express his disappointment about a deal not being completed with the Championship side.

He tweeted: “Disappointed the deal couldn't get done in time...signed & sent off, waited till 19.00 with real hope

“From my end I know I was willing to give up a lot...all I wanna do is say thank you to Neil Warnock (appreciate you so much) and wish Middlesbrough all the best this season ½

“But now my focus is back on Everton & continuing to work hard everyday like I have been & if I’m called upon I’ll be ready to do whatever is necessary.

“Real ones know I speak from the heart nothing more nothing less. #DerbyDayTomorrow”

The player then responded to a fan's question in an attempt to make clear why he wanted to move to Boro and that the reasons behind him not leaving Everton was not the fault of the Championship side.

He said: "Nothing like that at all...back room at Boro have been great and tried to get everything done, we just couldn’t make the cut off...gaffers vision/belief in me is why I wanted to come Only messaged this as I can’t have any negativity on Boro end."

Bolasie could still leave Everton with the transfer window in Russia is open until tomorrow while the Portuguese market is active until October 25.
