NEW YORK _ Young umpire Brennan Miller had an erratic strike zone early in Thursday's Yankees-Rays game. After a questionable called third strike set off Brett Gardner in the second inning, Boone was ejected for addressing Miller by name from the dugout, and specifically addressing him like a child: "Get better now, Brennan, let's f------ go, bear down, let's go. ... Really bad start." Boone then came out to give Miller some more personal encouragement:

"My guys are f------ savages in that f------ box, right, and you're having a piece of s--- start to this game. I feel bad for ya, but f------ get better. That guy is a good pitcher, but our guys are savages in the f------ box. Tighten it up right now. Tighten this s--- up!"
Nothing touches the unearthed "ass in the jackpot" Terry Collins meltdown from last year, but there are multiple all-time classic lines in there. Maybe robot umpires would've gotten that call right, but definitely they would have deprived us of this rant.
