Yankees-Indians to play doubleheader Wednesday after rain out

NEW YORK _ Tuesday night's Yankees-Indians game has been rained out at Yankee Stadium.

The two teams will play a single-admission doubleheader Wednesday afternoon, beginning at 1:05 p.m. EDT, with the second game starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opener.

Tuesday's scheduled starters, Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer and Yankees lefty Jaime Garcia, will oppose one another in Wednesday's first game. Cleveland's Josh Tomlin will now oppose lefty Jordan Montgomery, scheduled to be recalled to start in Wednesday's second game.

CC Sabathia, the Yankees' original Wednesday starter, will be pushed to Thursday and start the four-game series opener against the first-place Boston Red Sox.

According to the Yankees, only tickets dated Wednesday, Aug. 30, will be valid for the doubleheader.

Tickets for Tuesday's originally scheduled game will not be honored for either game of the doubleheader. Fans holding tickets for Tuesday's rained out game may exchange their paid tickets for any regular-season game at Yankee Stadium through the end of the 2018 season subject to availability.

Additionally, Tuesday's 'Cap Night' promotion will be rescheduled for a future date.
