Yankees broadcast had the worst announcer jinx of all time before Alan Trejo’s walk-off home run

There may not be an announcer jinx worse than the one the New York Yankees broadcast just committed.

On Sunday, the Yankees were looking to win their series against the Colorado Rockies after taking a 1-1 split to start the second half of the season. After a back and forth game, the two teams headed to extra innings tied 5-5, with the Yankees taking a 7-5 lead in the top of the 11th inning.

The Rockies were able to battle back to tie it in the bottom of the 11th and with two outs, Alan Trejo came to the plate looking to win the game. During the at-bat, the Yankees broadcast was filling time before the 2-0 pitch and gave us this absolutely perfect jinx.

“Trejo — 120 at-bats — does not have a home run this year … until now.”

Oops! That is a bad announcer jinx. It is, however, hilarious with the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme over top of it!

That is definitely not the way the Yankees — and their broadcast — wanted to start the second half.
