Yankees-Astros: Yuli Gurriel gives Houston early lead with 3-run blast

The New York Yankees extended the ALCS on Friday after hitting a key three-run homer off Justin Verlander. One day later, the Astros flipped the script at home, taking an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first to take control of Game 6.

Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel began Game 6 with a .050 average against the Yankees in the series, but his first-inning shot may end up being the most important hit of the ALCS. Gurriel ripped a high pitch from Yankees opener Chad Green over the wall in left field to give the Astros an early 3-0 lead.

The Yankees are 11-4 in 2019 in games Green has opened, but New York will have to stage a comeback if it hopes to force a Game 7. The Astros were the best team in baseball at home this season, compiling a 60-21 record at Minute Maid Park.
