Yan Couto transfer latest as Celtic target ‘pleads’ with Manchester City to green light move

Yan Couto has urged Manchester City to give his Celtic move the go-ahead after being blown away by the atmosphere created by fans, according to a report.

The Brazilian was at Celtic Park for Thursday night’s Europa League win over Jablonec and is desperate to get the move done now.

City are still weighing up his future though with Spanish side Girona also wanting to sign him.

The La Liga outfit are a sister club of Man City’s through the City Football Group and that could give them the edge.

The Sunday Mail also say the Premier League champions have turned down a bid from the English Championship for Couto.

That leaves it as a straight shootout between Celtic and Girona and it’s all down to the final decision of City on where he goes.

Couto is desperate to become the latest member of Ange Postecoglou’s rebuild though, and wants them to rubber stamp the move.

The 19-year-old was on the bench for City’s Community Shield defeat to Leicester last week.

He’s one of a number of right backs on Postecoglou and Celtic’s watchlist, with a deal still on the cards for Legia Warsaw’s Josip Juranovic.
