Yamanaka finishes 5th, Kato 6th

PYEONGCHANG -- Japanese speed skater Daichi Yamanaka, 27, finished fifth in the men's 500-meter speed skating event at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics on Monday, with a time of 34.78 seconds.

Following him in sixth place was 33-year-old Joji Kato, who clocked in at 34.831 seconds.
