Yale introduces gender-neutral bathrooms to campus

Yale University has announced 23 gender-neutral bathrooms to its campus amid the ongoing debate for transgender rights across the country.

The restrooms are now promoted on the school’s website ahead of the university’s 315th commencement on Monday.

"Yale aims to be a leader on this front," Tamar Gendler, the dean of Yale's Faculty of Arts and Sciences told reporters. "Part of what is important about the all-gender bathroom project and about putting it at the top of our commencement site, is this is about public signaling.”

Since 2006, Yale’s Equal Opportunity Statement has prohibited discrimination against the gender identity of students and faculty gender in admission, education and employment at the university.

"What's the greatest harm that can be done?”  Isaac Amend, a senior at the college, asked the Associated Press. “An old white guy makes a snide remark? Who cares?"
