Yahoo Mail is down - frustrated UK users unable to send emails

It’s one of the most popular email services in the UK, but it seems that Yahoo Mail has been having problems this morning.

According to Down Detector, the issues started at around 07:47 GMT, and are affecting users across the UK.

Of those who reported issues, 68% said they were having problems logging-in, 20% couldn’t access the website, and 11% couldn’t read their mail.

Now, Yahoo has confirmed that the issue was with an external ISP.

A Verizon spokesperson told Mirror Online: "We received notifications that some UK users were having problems logging into some services this morning.

"On investigation, it seems that login issues for any UK Yahoo Mail and AOL Mail customers were limited to a particular ISP, and not related to any technical issues on our side. We have reached out to the ISP to inform them and are monitoring for updates as to when it will be resolved."

Several users have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations at the outage.

One user wrote: “@yahoomail Is there a problem with the mail service as I can’t get into my emails work emails…”

Another added: “Getting fed up now @YahooCare @yahoomail - am trying to organise 2 house renovations, tradespeople & check contents expected in 2 deliveries today - can't do anything without my email!!  Please sort the problem.”

And one tweeted: “Never had problems loading Yahoo Mail until about a year ago.  Now getting them far too often.  What is going on with @yahoomail?”
