Yahoo and BT are down: Major online companies experience outage across Nottingham

Yahoo, BT and AOL are all experiencing a massive outage which means customers can not access their email accounts.

According to the website DownDetector, a number of areas around the East Midlands - including Nottingham - are currently experiencing problems with their broadband and email services.

Many of the issues are also being experienced in areas such as Leicester, London, Birmingham and Manchester, according to LeicestershireLive.

Yahoo has said it is experiencing problems with its email and its website. The firm has since confirmed on its Twitter account that it is experiencing widespread outages on its service.

It is believed that the service has been down for almost two hours.

A statement from the company said: "You may not be able to access some of our services, including email.

"Our top priority right now is getting this fixed.

"We appreciate your patience."

A BT spokesperson told Express Online: “Yahoo is currently experiencing a global outage, which means that many of our customers are unable to access their BT Yahoo email accounts.

"Yahoo is working to fix the issue as quickly as possible, we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
