HYDERABAD: Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple will be reopened on March 28, 2022. Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s dream project temple renovation works which began five years ago in 2016 are nearing completion.
The chief minister on Tuesday announced that the temple would be reopened by performing Maha Kumba Samprokshanam on next March 28. Before that on March 21, Sudarshana Maha Yagam and other rituals would be performed.
The government also decided to provide a gold coating to the main temple ‘Vimana Gopuram’ on the lines of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD). "For providing gold coating, it was estimated about 125 kgs of gold worth Rs 60 to Rs 65 crore. The gold would be purchased through the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Since we need a huge quantity of the gold, it was decided to accept donations from the people and organizations. From my family, I am donating one kg and 16 tolas gold," Chandrasekhar Rao said.
KCR, who went around the temple for nearly six hours and inspected the works on Tuesday announced that the Muhurth was fixed by Chinna Jeeyar Swamy seer. In the reopening ceremony over 5,000 to 6,000 Ruthviks along with another 3,000 to 4,000 others including priests from Tirumala, Bhadradri and other famous temples across the country would perform the rituals. KCR said invitations would be extended to seers from various Maths and Peethams across the country.
He said Chinna Jeeyar Swamy announced one kg gold, some ministers like Ch Malla Reddy came forward to donate one kg gold, T Harish Rao pledged one kg on behalf of his assembly constituency, MLA Marri Janardhan Reddy announced two kgs of gold on behalf of his two business institutions, Kaveri Seeds proprietor Bhaskar Rao came forward to give one kg gold for that. "We will accept even small pieces of gold and cash donations which will be handed over to a committee," the CM said. The temple authorities and Yadadri Temple Development Authority people approached the workers who had done gold coating works for TTD, he said.
KCR said many people are also coming forward to donate amounts for construction of cottages on the temple premises. He hoped the temple would attract several lakhs of people.
During inspection earlier, the CM inspected the works of special doors of the main entrances created by the Pembarthy artisans. He discussed with the officials about the construction of Gandi Cheruvu, Pushkarini, Kalyana Katta, Deekshaparula Mandapam, and Satyanarayana Vrata Mandapam etc.
He specially examined the Narsimha Swamy Kalyana episode drawn in the Tanjore style of painting. Temple Architect and Sthapathi Ananda Sai explained to the CM the progress of works. When the Temple Archakas requested for the sanction of house sites for them, the CM instructed Minister Jagadeeshwar Reddy, Yadadri collector Pamela Satpathy to allot plots for Archakas and employees as the decision to allot them plots had already been taken. The CM also instructed the officials that for all those who lost their shops during the construction, the ring road should be given 1,000 Sq ft shops free of cost near the KalyanaKatta complex.
Later, the CM personally handed over the handwritten Muhurat letter of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy to temple executive office Geeta and asked her to place the letter at the Lotus feet of the deity.
