'Ya bunch of f*****g dafties': Man taunts gang who hacked his leg off with a machete

A man who had his leg hacked off by a gang in a brutal machete attack has recorded a video taunting them from his hospital bed.

The man and his partner were attacked by a blade-wielding gang from the North West of England over a drug debt. The gang burst into their home near Glasgow at around 2.30am on May 17 armed with machetes.

The man, 28, had to have his right leg amputated and a number of his fingers sewn back on. The 28-year-old woman, who sources said was attacked when she tried to call police, had to have several fingers stitched back onto her left hand, The Daily Record reports.

But the man, who goes by the name 'Strictly Criminal' online, has now shared a new clip from hospital where he hits back at his assailants. He described them as 'f*****g dafties' as he danced in the hospital room.

In the footage, he said: "Take the fingers, take the leg, but you won't take my life, ya bunch of f***ing dafties." A woman who appears to be filming the man can be heard giggling in the background.

The female victim of the attack said her life will never be the same following the terrifying ordeal and has since split from her partner. She said: “It’s a horrendous thing that happened to me and it’s difficult to talk about.

"I’m just trying to move forward with my life and recover from all of this. It has been a traumatic experience.

“I’m trying to focus on me and the kids at the moment. My partner and I have now gone our separate ways."

Neighbours at the scene of the attack told the Daily Record that the woman's partner was released from jail on the day of the horror incident and claim police told them the machete gang travelled from Liverpool to seize drugs and cash.

One said: "The woman's boyfriend had been released from jail on Tuesday and then the attack happened in the middle of the night. The gang burst through the front door and she had her fingers chopped while she was phoning the police.

"The police came and boarded up the house. I've not seen her for weeks now."

Another neighbour added: "Police turned up on the street and were going door to door asking if we had seen anything. One officer told me her boyfriend owed a drug gang from Liverpool £100,000. He'd just been let out of jail before the attack."

Both victims shared pictures of their shocking injuries on social media in the weeks following the attack. One image shows the male victim in his hospital bed with his right leg amputated above the knee and his left leg bandaged and in a brace.

His arms are also heavily bandaged from above the elbow downwards covering both hands. An image of the woman shows her left arm bandaged from below the elbow covering the hand where the fingers were sliced off. No arrests have been made following the incident. Police say their enquiries remain ongoing.
