Nine new coronavirus cases in Lothians as total rises to 85 across Scotland

There are nine new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Lothians, with 85 found throughout Scotland, the Scottish Government has confirmed.

Elsewhere, there are a total of 21 confirmed patients with the virus in Glasgow, three in Tayside and four in Fife.

The latest numbers of coronavirus in Scotland are published by the Scottish Government daily at 2pm.

A total of 3315 tests have been conducted in Scotland since the start of the outbreak, meaning there had been 3329 negative tests.

Football matches across Scotland have been suspended this weekend , with SPFL boss Neil Doncaster saying it was "only a matter of time" before more players are diagnosed.

Thousands of workers at the Aegon offices in Edinburgh have also been sent home after an employee was diagnosed with the virus.

Some of the financial service firm's employees have been told to work at home, and others told not to attend at their offices at the Gyle.
